An Overview of These Health-Boosting Miracle Workers and Why I Take Them Every Day
In my experience, there seems to be an air of mystery and many misconceptions surrounding the subject of exogenous ketone supplementation. First of all, I must stress the fact that you DO NOT have to follow a ketogenic or low carb diet to take and benefit from ketone supplementation. To be perfectly honest, I do not follow a keto diet but, due to a sensitivity to gluten, I am low carb by default. That's not to say that I think a ketogenic diet is bad when followed properly. In fact, the ketogenic diet is rooted in science. It was created in 1921 at the Mayo Clinic by Dr. Russel Wilder, MD as a treatment for epilepsy and has since proven to be effective in preventing other types of diseases such as heart disease and stroke. An unbelievable one-third of all deaths around the world is due to cardiovascular disease, so this is huge. By supplementing your body with exogenous ketones, you can reap the benefits of ketosis without having to follow any particular diet. Count me in! Other health perks attained by taking exogenous ketones can have an immense impact on our daily lives as well. Some of these perks include increased energy and better digestion, but I'll get into all of that a little later on in this article. You'll be amazed!
Now let's delve into the subject of exogenous ketones. In this article, you'll learn what they are and how they can improve your health. I'll also explain what kind you should take, why I take them, and why you should too! So here we go!
What is Ketosis and how do we reach it?
Ketosis is reached when our bodies shift into a state of burning fat instead of glucose for fuel. Simply put, it allows our bodies to optimize the way we use energy. The ability of the mitochondria, also known as the "powerhouse" of our cells, to deliver our bodies energy in an efficient and beneficial way is enhanced. This leads to a cleansing effect of the cells, allowing those that are damaged and diseased to be repaired. Simply AMAZING.
The benefits of ketosis are immense, but how do we shift our bodies into this state? There are a few ways to do it. First, you can follow a very strict keto diet. This consists of eating mostly healthy fats such as nuts, coconut oil, olive oil, and avocados. Protein intake on a true ketogenic diet is moderate, making up about 25 percent of your daily caloric intake. Finally, carbohydrates should make up a very small percentage, we're talking 5-10 percent of your diet.
Fasting is another way of entering ketosis. Intermittent fasting is one of the more popular forms. In this version of fasting, you eat during an 8-hour window and fast the other 16 hours of the day. Extended fasts are also beneficial, the duration of which varies from 24 hours to 48 hours or more. Fasting for an extended period of time sends your body into clean-up mode, also known as autophagy. As someone who has incorporated intermittent fasting into my lifestyle for years, I find it to be very difficult at times. One must be very disciplined in order to be successful in this manner of control and restriction.
Finally, you can send your body into ketosis by way of exogenous ketone supplementation. Much easier than the previous two, wouldn't you say? This is what I prefer to do as I don't have to be on any sort of strict diet.

My Ketone Story
I initially went on the hunt for a natural energy booster. My job requires at least 8 hours of constant focus, which left me brain-dead and drained at the end of the day. I would have excelled if cast as an extra on the Walking Dead. I know a lot of you reading this can relate. I would get home from work and barely have enough energy to cook dinner for my family. After that, I would collapse onto the couch and remain there for the rest of the evening until I went to bed. I couldn't even get up to play with my 5-year-old. The result?...Guilt, a crazy amount of guilt, which spurred on anxiety and stress. I was unhappy, suffered from chronic fatigue and bad digestion, and generally felt unfulfilled due to the lack of energy to pursue my interests and hobbies outside of work. Trust me, I've taken it all from Ginseng and Rhodiola Rosea to magic mushrooms(no not that kind) and many many more. Nothing helped until I came across an article about exogenous ketones. I was impressed, to say the least. I began my search for the best one I could find. Well, after experimenting with numerous brands, I found it. This is the only, I repeat ONLY, one in the world created by a natural fermentation process that produces ketones that are bio-identical to the ones made by our bodies. Now we're talking. The rest, made synthetically which I would never ever put in my body. I will link the product at the end of this article.
The very first time I took these ketones, I felt an amazing difference. I felt my brain light up, I had boundless amounts of energy...I mean I actually wanted and looked forward to working out, my digestion improved(which had been a major problem for me since I had my last child about 5 years ago), my mood was uplifted, and anxiety and stress are gone. I haven't looked back since. I hope this provides hope to some who are reading this. Try supplementing with ketones if you suffer from any of the problems I've listed or if you just want to benefit your body and overall health. You seriously have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Get yourself out of that rut and into a truly fulfilling and happy life. You can find a link to the ketones I take below, these are the only ones I will take and I highly recommend them. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message or comment below!
